Epping Boys High School has a proud reputation and history of rugby sporting excellence and has produced many great state and national representative rugby players, including players who have captained the Combined High Schools team, and gone on to represent the Australian Schoolboys team. Epping Boys currently has five teams representing the school in rugby union, an Under 13s, Under 14s and Under 15s, and both a 2nds and 1sts Opens squad.

Much of the school's rugby success is due to the strong team spirit that is fostered by the unique, tight-knit community, as well as access to the first-rate facilities and training opportunities that Epping Boys provides. Rugby is one of the ultimate team sports, promoting strong friendships and camaraderie, a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and the discipline necessary for good HSC study habits.

The rugby union teams further develop their skills and foster international relationships with other rugby teams by going on tour to New Zealand (junior teams) and Canada/USA (Opens teams) every second year.

The Annual Rugby Dinner is held at the completion of the Winter Sport Competition. The evening is a celebration of Rugby for all ageĀ groups at Epping Boys High School. The evening attracts noted Rugby guests to present trophies and speak to all Epping Boys High School Rugby players.
