Creative Arts
In the Creative and Performing Arts, students explore a diverse range of art forms through Drama, Music, Photography and Digital Media, Visual Design and Visual Arts. Through their participation in the Creative and Performing Arts, students develop the ability to create, perform, compose, make, and appreciate, deepening their understanding of how the arts enrich individual and collective experience.
The creative and performing arts
The creative and performing arts foster imagination, expression, and critical thinking, while cultivating an appreciation for the aesthetic and cultural value of the arts.
- All students complete 100 hours each of Drama, Music, and Visual Arts during Years 7 and 8.
- In Stage 5, they may then extend their learning through elective courses such as Drama, Music, Photography and Digital Media, Visual Design and Visual Arts, building their skills and artistic interests.
- In the senior years, students can further specialise by choosing Drama, Music 1, Music 2, Music Extension and Visual Arts, building on their skills and artistic interests.
The Creative and Performing Arts are supported by a strong co-curricular program, featuring 13 music ensembles, a Junior Drama Ensemble, and an Art Club, which provide additional opportunities for students to extend their skills and showcase their talents. The creative and performing arts are a vibrant part of school life at Epping Boys High School. Students present their work and performances at key annual events such as Drama Night, An Evening of Music, and the Art Exhibition. Many students have achieved recognition at the highest level, with nominations and selections for OnStage, ENCORE, and ARTEXPRESS, celebrating excellence in HSC performance and practical works.
