Parents and Citizens

Epping Boys High School's Parents and Citizens' Association objectives are:

  • To promote the interest of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff into close co-operation; and
  • 2. To assist in providing facilities and equipment for the school and in promoting the recreation and welfare of the students at the school.

General Meetings are held at 7.30pm in the school's Common Room (D Block), twice per term.  The dates are listed on the front page of each school newsletter. Throughout the year guest speakers, head teachers and year advisers are invited on a rotating basis to address the P&C on the operation of their faculties. Any parents or community members are most welcome to attend. P&C Membership is a ‘gold coin'.

The Principal, Tim O'Brien, attends all meetings and addresses parents' questions.

Funds are received from donations and fund raising activities. The P&C asks parents to make voluntary donations to three funds:

  • Grounds Fund which is used by the school to maintain and improve the grounds;
  • General Fund which is used to support student wellbeing, services and resources;
  • Building Fund (tax deductable) which is used to maintain and improve the school buildings and their fit-out.

Over recent years, parents' contributions have enabled modular performance staging, stage curtains, coffee bar kitchen, air conditioning in the examination centre, music practice rooms, accessibility toilets at the sports oval, and the purchase of a 25-seater bus for the school.

We also acknowledge Hon. Victor Dominello MP for Ryde, Mr John Alexander MP for Bennelong, and Mr Damien Tudehope, MP for Epping, for financial support of our projects.

Please address any enquiry to the P&C Secretary by email to eppingboyspandc@gmail.com.

Grounds is a P&C subcommittee that works with the Principal to use parents' Grounds Fund contributions to improve the appearance and amenities of the school. We also ask parent, student and teacher volunteers to a P&C Working Bee in spring and autumn for a general tidy up.

Events Support is a P&C subcommittee which operates the Second Hand Uniform Shop and assists in the organisation and catering for major school functions such as the Evening of Music, Orientation Day, the Art Exhibition and the school musical. Each year, Events Support gives a gift to the school such as cutlery, crockery and uniforms for the Hospitality Trade Training Centre to cater for major dinners and events, luggage trailer for outside events, stage screen, and new guitars for Music teaching and performance. Events Support also provides the annual Art Exhibition Prize, as well as a farewell gift to every Year 12 graduate.

Canteen is a P&C subcommittee that runs EPPIC EATS, providing a comprehensive refreshment service from before school to lunchtime. The menu meets the NSW government's healthy eating guidelines. Most food is made fresh daily on the premises, and is served by volunteers and professional staff. Volunteers' time, generously given, means that profits are available as P&C donations to benefit our students.

Your P&C thanks all parents/carers, family members and the wider community for their support of Epping Boys High School.
